Problem using 1.13b patch

From the newbie in the group;

Just installed The Blue and The Grey. I'm unable to get the AACW_Patch.zip file to unzip successfully. I get this message, "some data in your zip file is damaged. The crc is 5f5c182c but should be b3043972." :confused: I've downloaded the patch from the game site and the forum a few times. Always get the same error. What am I doing wrong?

Also, I have broadband service. Any idea why my download rate is a blazing 90 KB/sec? :(

Thanks for the assistance. Look forward to playing the game. Cheers.

Welcome to the Forum.

You should probably have posted this in the Tech Support forum :bonk:

No idea what the problem is with your patch, but I can assure you there's nothing wrong with your download speed. I get the same slow download times, so it must be a bandwith issue with Ageod. BUt, as they say, good things are worth waiting for.

I was going to suggest you try the 1.12 patch, but it doesn't look liek you can get it off the forum -- the new one is stored inthe same location and with the same name as the old one.

Good luck getting it fixed. I'm sure Ageod can help you out -- they are very responsive.

Thanks all. Still rather baffling...

I'm in the USA, so I guess I can buy the slower d/l rate coming from Europe. I'm downloading the patch zip again today...at the same slooooooow speed. The file is taking about 20 minutes to d/l. But there is no interruption. The download finishes ok.

The game installed just fine. I cannot get the patch to unzip. I get the error message every time. Never had this problem with a zip file before. So I may be SOL.

I'll contact ageod if I still cannot unzip the patch. Cheers.

Thanks Gray_Lensman. I'm using winzip and have never had a problem downloading before.

Took your advice, told winzip to open the file, rather than save it, and it worked just fine. Not sure I understand why I was able to open ok, but kept getting a "damaged" file when trying to save to my HD?

But it's all water under the bridge. I'm off and running now! :thumbsup:
Thanks for the help. Much appreciated. Cheers.
