Patch question

Hi, This is a great game, thanks to everyone who has contributed. I took a hiatus for a few months but am back now. I see there is the new patch 1.12 but there is also the Historical Accuracy MOD. I am a little confused as to which one to use or both? In order to use the Historical Accuracy MOD, I read that a vanilla game needs to be used, which I take to imply a non patched game. Therefore, if I use the patch 1.12 then I can not use the Historical Accuracy MOD? I am looking for the hardest AI possible, which I just read a thread on which settings are suggested, and for the most historically acurate game, but I am not sure which of these downloads to utilize, or both? Thanks for any help.

Hi!
You always should use the latest patch. As it is now you can chose between the lattes official one (1.12)

Or the lattes beta patch 1.12a (RC%) (if you are a little adventurous ;) )

The Historical MOD is done by Gray Lensman, AACW coordinator. In there you will find his latest work between patches, as what is used and tested on the mod is usually included on the next official/beta patch of the game.
So you only need the MOD right now if you install the official 1.12 patch. The most recent beta pach already includes the MOD improvements.
By "Vanilla game" it means a normal AND patched up game (always!! :) ).
One that don't use any other mods that can cause conflicts with the Historical mod.
But official patch and historical mod are compatible.
Historical mod is like a pre release of the latest additions meanwhile they get incorporated on the game patches.
Hope it helps!
Regards!

Hi, Thank you for the explanation, it is very helpful. It sounds like the two best options are to patch to 1.12 then add the historical MOD or just go ahead and use the 1.12a beta patch. Thanks again
