I really need help

I have just downloaded the update (1.1?) and now, the game won't advance a turn. I push the button and all I get is "military mode activated?" I'm on a windows vista machine. Please help!

Actually, I did exactly what you said, and it worked. Weird, but true!! Thanks for the assist.
