Hero of the Day - Metallica

Check these lyrics out. Seems like a good Confederate song. :siffle:

Mama, they try and break me.
The window burns to light the way back home
A light that warms no matter where they've gone.
They're off to find the hero of the day
But what if they should fall by someone's wicked way?
Still the window burns, time so slowly turns
Someone there is sighing
Keepers of the flames
Do you feel your names?
Do you hear your babies crying?
Mama they try and break me
Still they try and break me
'Scuse me while I tell you how I feel
These things return to me that still seem real
Now deservingly this easy chair
But the rocking stops by wheels of despair
Don't want your aid
But the fist I've made for you won't hold or feel
No I'm not all me
So please excuse me while I tell you how I feel
But now the dreams and waking screams that ever last through the night (echoed between James and Jason)

So build the wall behind it crawl and hide until it's light
Can you hear your babies crying now?
Still the window burns
Time so slowly turns
And someone there is sighing
Keepers of the flames, can't you feel your names?
Can't you hear your babies crying?
But now the dreams and waking screams that
ever last the night
So build a wall behind it crawl
And hide until it's light
So can't you hear your babies crying now?
Mama they try and break me
Mama they try and break me
Mama they try and break me
Mama they try mama they try
Mama they try and break me
Mama they try and break me
Mama they try and break me
Mama they try and break me
Mama they try and break me
Mama they try and break me
Mama they try Mama they try

Now go listen and launch an offensive!

LOL - I thought I had the least authentic playlist. Guess not. :siffle:

hehe well after awhile the authentic gets old. Techno and classical are good background (thinking) noises too. I wouldn't recommend metallica for "thinking" moments. Much better as victory music. ;)

If Wagner, The Pogues, The Used, Dropkick Murphys, etc. don't interfere with my thinking moments ... umm, maybe they do.

Ohh Wagner's a good idea! I used to listen to that when I played TOAW. It was perfect with the background battle sounds. I have fond memopries of playing that game on the Fourth of July with that combo. It was like I was directing a RL battle in my little HQ building. :siffle:

Fiesta!!
Oh! how many times must i have got drunk on bars and discos that summer of... 1988 or so with a Pogues soundtrack! :niark:
They were so "en vogue" back then on Spain... and i was so young back then... :p apy: :niark:
I still must have some LP vinyls of them stored somewhere... will have to check...
Cheers!

I remember 1988 as a bloodshot haze, with a vaguely pogueish soundtrack.

My warpogue tracks:

Turkish Song of the Damned
If I Should Fall From Grace With God
Worms

Any of those are great for sending thousands of doodles to oblivion.

Here you go, Daxil.
I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier:

Don't Tread On Me
from the black album

Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail
once you provoke her, rattling of her tail
never begins it, never, but once engaged...
never surrenders, showing the fangs of rage

don't tread on me

so be it
threaten no more
to secure peace is to prepare for war
so be it
settle the score
touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

don't tread on me

love it or live it, she with the deadly bite
quick is the blue tongue, forked as lighting strike
shining with brightness, always on surveillance
the eyes, they never close, emblem of vigilance

don't tread on me

so be it
threaten no more
to secure peace is to prepare for war
so be it
settle the score
touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

don't tread on me

so be it
threaten no more
to secure peace is to prepare for war

liberty or death, what we so proudly hail
once you provoke her, rattling on her tail

so be it
threaten no more
to secure peace is to prepare for war
so be it
settle the score
touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

don't tread on me

Apocalyptica certaily could serve to fill both the Metallica void and soften the edge a bit. :siffle:

Frankly, Metallica is the war band. I heard the armored cav had it blaring in engagements during the Iraq invasion.

Nope. "And Justice for all..." was the best.

How about throwing in "Flogging Molly" to the music mix here?

Absolutely Flogging Molly is thrown in. I just mentioned the first few that came to mind ... and then lost my train of thought.
