On the JHMHT

Yesterday, I accidentally found myself on the John Hunt Morgan Heritage Trail. I didn't know I was on it until I stopped in at a McDonald's in Versailles, Indiana, where I picked up a brochure on the subject. I was at point 18 on the map. Not much to take pictures of, mainly just cornfields. It looks like Morgan made the wise decision to skirt around the Jefferson Proving Ground.

My thoughts exactly since all the gray dots align nicely with modern paved highways.

On the success, failure, and/or general advisability of the raid, a wrap-up statement in the brochure says this: "Despite his boldness and other more successful raids, Morgan never regained the confidence of his superiors--perhaps he was too bold." If that statement is accurate, it implies that the CSA command authorities considered the raid a failure." Any pushback?
