I understand Ageod wanting to avoid political flame wars, but its hard to intelligently discuss the ACW without touching on the politics OF THE TIME. For instance Lincoln's mid war re-election was a critical part of the Civil War, and of course like all civil wars its causes were basiclly political.

I propse that if people stick to the period and are civil and considerate to other posters (aqs I've found the fast majority of posters here to be) that a absolute ban on all politics isn't nessecary or desirable.

[color="Blue"]Tomm, the ban isn't on discussing politics in historical contexts (AACW even has politics as part of the game, and we encourage discussions about our games ), but on bringing present day politics into the discussions.[/color]
