Thankyou to the French of this Northern Region of France, still remembering the extreme scarifice many young ANZAC's paid over nintety years ago. Lest we forget.

I don't know it was the "Australian week" but that this town was the spot of the first tank vs tank engagement.

No I wasn't, I saw a part of the telecast on TV after the Gallipolli Dawn service. ANZAC Day is one the most important days on the Australian and New Zealand Calendar. Even though not the official birth date of our nations, many Australians and I assume many NZers consider it to be symbolically so.

In France we're always recognised the help we've got for all over the world during WW1 (at least for those who still remember there was a world war). It's specially true for Nord Pas de Calais and Somme which see most of the figths from British Empire troops (whatever they were Canadian or ANZAC).
This ceremony at Villers Bretonneux has been reported during the 8'Clock TV News reports from nearly all national channels.
