I was surfing [using Dogpile.com] for American Revolution wargames, and found BoA at Matrix. d/l'd the demo, loved it, bought it.
Once I was 'logged in' at AGEOD forums, I saw AACW, d/l'd the demo, loved it, bought it....... uninstalled FOF soon after....

I first heard of AGEOD from a post on the Paradox forum. The date would have been April 2006 *looking at the date in my box on the left*.

I read a BOA AAR that was posted at the Paradox forums

My story about the game is pathetic i guess. I saw about the ACW in a game site like ign or gamespot (one of the two, i can't exactly remember which) in november 2007, and it was a preview actually. And if i'm not wrong, it wrote that the game was to be published (probably in the US market) so i decided to wait.
After a month, i realized that i could use google for searching on the internet and i learned that the game was published so much earlier.

The search took me to the forums. After reading a few posts and trying the demo, i decided to buy the game.
PS: Before judging me, please note that i am not (ok, i was not) a wargamer.

I think my story was pretty much the same as Evren's, only happened about six or seven months earlier. Please don't judge me either.

j'ai lu une critique d'un des jeux dans un des magazines spécialisé (probablement cyberstratège mais VaeVictis est une autre possibilité)
I have read a article in a french wargame magazine.

I was "recruited" by Gene Renna, a fellow CCC member. He sent me an email pointing me to BoA. I then recalled that I had seen previews. Anyway I had a closer look and was completely sold. The graphics! Nuff said.

I found about Ageod from Paradox Interactives forum and have since then barely visited PI's forum, this place is much better
EDIT: Just realised that I have been 2 years on this forum, and have been fun and intresting every single day.

I think I was googling for ACW games about a year ago and found a reference of Ageod's AACW. The rest is history...

What Forum?

Guys: I saw the reference to BOA vs. For Liberty on Wargamer. I have been kicked off for calling a member a "potato head" but still read it. This lead to AACW which I bought first, then NC and finally BOA. Waiting for VG.

The first time I heard a review of an AGEOD game was in a french magazine (PC4WAR). I bought BoA and I fall in love of this game
Then... I bought AACW (the best one in my point of view) and NC. I learn a lot of things about american civil war and due to AGEOD's game, I read several books about this conflict. Thanks a lot for your wonderful games

I was looking for europa universalis 3 on gamersgate website when i found the recommendation from their staff on AACW. I bought AACW immediately digidl, next day i bought EU3.
Now EU3 lasted 2 days in my hands, AACW doesn't wanna leave me alone...it jumped in my baggage and chased me till Cali!

Read that the developer of EU. was developing a new game.
E-mailed Philippe with a question and was amazed to be sent map and some rules before game release.
With such commitment ,I felt that the only gentlemanly response was to purchase BOA. within hours of release.
Will continue to get anything coming from the two Philippes until they show a lack of interest in their customers and the forum becomes less friendly, interesting and helpful.
