Interesting interview commenting past, present and future. Though not new info on what happened with the end of Ageod.

Cannot agree with him in PON, that IMO was the tomb of Ageod.

Thank you very interesting interview. To my shame I didn’t know that Philip is now working at Avalon and SGS. Now I will take a closer look at the games of this studio!

Liked Philip's choice of 5 games for a desert island))

Thanks! SGS games are here: https://strategygamestudio.com/games/
I didn't understand if they are all Steam games, or can be bought drm-freed.

Yes, they are.
To be honest, I was not impressed so much by these games. IMO there is no deep historical study, primitive battle mechanics, etc etc
Although WOW (SGS) engine itself looks more modern than Athena, but these are too commercial games.
Comparing with AGEod it looks like poor PC strategy for couple evenings.
It`s a pity!
Monsieur Thibaut - you are genius of monster strategies! Please, come back to this genre.

Interesting interview none the less.

PON pushed beyond its limits an engine that was probably not fit for it. The gameplay is nice though...

He has chosen it this way. And has created many games in a short period of time, and more coming, so I guess you are right. But perhaps the sales are better and compensate him.

Anyway the look of old Ageod games, is clearly there.

Good luck to him and also to Pocus who chose a different path.

Of course, good luck to PhilThib and Pocus!
And a great appreciation! Before I met Ageod, I didn't even imagine that PC strategies could be so exciting.

Our current 24-member PON campaign says the game engine is still alive and people are ready to play it. Moreover, the mechanism for adding events allows you to fix errors and restrictions due to the addition of a large number of players.

Although, of course, there would be one more patch that fixes some unpleasant bugs the game really needs.

That was a great interview with Philippe Thibault, especially for what it had to say about the early history of some of Paradox's versions of EU and CK. I knew for example that Snowflake had the first go at creating Crusader Kings, but I hadn't known that Philippe also had a hand in it before them.
