My forum permissions

Not sure where else to post this, posting here in lack of better place.

I seem to lack all forum permissions beyond reading and posting. I am locked out of all options under User CP so I can't set profile or anything under there. Nor do I have a PM folder. In fact, I don't even have the ability to send PM's to other people. There is no icon to click for it in people's info when I look at them.

I know from other PHPbb forums that there's a setting that needs to be activated in order for me to gain such accesses/permissions and I ask how come I don't have it from start.

I did send a "Contact Us" message to forum admin about it a few days ago but nothing has changed, and since I don't even have a PM folder I doubt they answered me.

If anyone has the answer to this (I searched the forum extensively for any info on this matter and found nothing) please respond. I am ok with there being a trial period or time limit or the need of a certain ammount of popular approval or whatever... but I at least want to know what I need to do in order to be able to change my settings/profile and send PM's if necessary.

Thank you for any helpful answers I may receive!

Hehe, no worries. I think its a rather good method. PHPbb forums are great, but they are also love for spam bots and f***tards. :bonk:

Does anybody know by any chance how many posts are needed before one can send Direct Messages? It does make it hard to actually start a game if neither of you can actually send DMs to the other...

I'll contact Generalismo to ease the settings.

Also I noticed that in the PBEM forum, players must have their post validated by a moderator before being seen, this is not useful probably.

So, you now have 7 posts and you still cannot send or receive PMs? :8o:

You need to have more than 5 posts to send a PM... nothing more.

EDITED: False alarm :niark: :niark:

I have just found another message from you in another subforum... you CAN send PM according to what you posted in there... just to clarify the situation for other people reading this thread...

The PM is not stuck in the outbox. The outbox is where messages go before they are read by the person receiving the PM. Once it has been read by the recipient the PM will be moved to the sent box. this allows you to edit or delete the message before it has been read.

Ah, thank you for the clarification on how the outbox works :)
