edit: I figured this out already, and also bough FOG: II to get the hang of things before Empires drops. Also, FOG: II is really well done!

So, I'm somewhat confused (normal state for me). Is there a rudimentary tactical battle system native to FOG: Empires and you have the option to export to the very robust tactical game FOG: II or is the only tactical option to export to FOG: II?

Also, when can I give you my money on Steam (preorder?)?

Empires has its own very robust tactical battle system that manages to be streamlined while offering the player interesting choices. I thought I would be exporting to FOG a lot but I like the tactical battle system in Empires so much that I use it 99% of the time. Compared to the battle system in paradox games it is light years ahead.
