Kalmyk troops were used by Peter the Great to suppress rebellions (for example Bulavin's) and for the GNW itself.

However there are no kalmyks in the game? I see their leader Ayuka or Ayuki Khan, but no troops.

They are in, they use the Crimean tatars units... here is what Ayuka brings:

But Kalmyks and Tatars are not the same thing. Mongoloid the first, the Tatars seem so be more Turkish. Though both are related.

I see the tatar cavalry is clearly mongoloid.

Anyway Ayuka was Kalmyk.

We'll have to leave racial subleties here, We only have graphic recycled from Napoleon game and it was a Bashkir cavalry, so quite close to Kalmyk in the end...
