A Smarter AI Please

I'm really disappointed at how pathetic the Artificial Ignorance is. I really wish I could play and be able to control the minors. I'm going to play solo PBEM all major nations to avoid the AI as much as possible. Just wish I could avoid having the AI control the minors, wish they'd be static until attacked and then a human major player country could control them, like so many other games allow.

Perhaps the most annoying thing is to see single artillery units running around past the frontlines, even some valuable HQ units do this nonsensical "recon". Also sad to see the AI undo good corp or force stacks and create poor ones that are way out of command control. I also think that the AI engages in too many foreign excursions, really stupid to see French artillery units doing recon towards Rostov in 1807, or then attacking St. Petersburg the next winter. Or a large Portugese army in southern Spain accomplishing nothing while most of northern Portugal is controlled by Spain.

I started a new video series on Wars of Napoleon. In the first episode I point out the Portugese army nonsense in 1808 from the perspective of Great Britain here at: https://youtu.be/byeqZdw4gvA

I'm going to be doing more videos about the game and some will focus in on how poorly the AI plays and why.

Why do you use background music in the video? It is an distraction.

Also, dont see the need to use tone like "pathetic artificial ignorance".

AGEOD team is most likely working hard on the issues and want feedback from the players, it is so melodramatic to sensationalize it IMO.

Seeing as it took millions of dollars and several years to develop an AI that can win at Go where there are only two types of piece - white and black stones - and 361 places to put them - I think Omnius is in for a long wait. But I think he has previous on this bleating about the AI.

Yes on both counts.

And claiming it's the most ignorant AI of all time doesn't help the case any.

Playing RAW's Action Stations and wondering where the Royal Navy got to, only to find it ran headlong into the ground..... Now *that* is an ignorant AI.

Even better.

Playing the game 4th and Inches with my brother, he passed the ball, and ran the receiver all the way to the end zone. *His* end zone.

Never, ever, saw an AI do that.
