Yes, modern Egyptology was born in this travel/campaign.

But it is little known compared to other Napoleon's campaigns.

Or is it more known for the wargamers than Austerlitz, Jena, Eylau, Wagram... Waterloo?

I don't know. But for the record in France Trafalgar and Berezina have become idiomatic.
Waterloo might be the best known. And everybody knows Napoleon's words “From these monuments forty centuries of history contemplate you.”
