I am not certain I am answering your question, but I hope I am.
I think this refers to the option in the diplomacy screen to request an expeditionary force from you ally which you control.

Why it isn't in the manual book?
When I prees the tab Button,
I can see all my allies.
Than I can see three or four envelope below on the right side,
an three or four colour markers. :)
Interesting that isn't in the manual...... I found it not there....... :non:

Well, my answer as to why it is not in the manual is the manual cannot cover everything. Much of the joy of exploring AGEOD games is discovery.
Also, most players, maybe not most, but me - I just play. The manual is not something I read to play. I read if I am stumped.
But these games are so complex that any manual cannot anticipate all concerns.

Your allies are controlled by the AI. They will per default have some interests of their own, like maintaining their own capital.

The mechanics of this entails giving some map locations certain values, making them literal points-of-interest for that faction.

The player can influence this behavior by 'painting' his own points-of-interest for a minor allied faction onto the map. These 'painted' areas, will have a great influence on that allied faction, when the AI determines what that faction will do each turn.

For each allied faction, you can paint
- a single region, giving that faction a great interest in attacking or defending there
- a number of adjacent regions, giving that faction a great interest in attacking or defending there
- a number of adjacent region, giving that faction a great aversion of going there
- delete the influence painting for that faction altogether

That's about it.
