Leaving Coalition

Am in an MP pbem.

The last few turns has seen both Austria and Prussia leave the Allied Coalition. Players concerned have not asked for this or are able to reverse event.

Surely an MP game should allow the players to decide diplomacy. If not then what is the point in playing MP?

While I am not specifically aware of the issues of your pbem, France in victory has a major influence on former coalition members diplomatic options. This is as it should be. Losers are not always able to choose their own fate.

Perhaps the GB player inadvertently clicked on the symbol for each of these on the active treaty part of the ledger. This will cancel the membership.

I am certain I did not "click" twice over the two separate occasions country left.

@ Durk Not happy that the programme just does this.

If you have the turn before this happens, then ask the host player to wrap everything is a zip and send it to us.

I missed this thread, very sorry. In the back of my mind I felt safe on this issue because I was waiting for a mail about that in my box so knew (well, thought...) that I could not miss it.

I'll check your saved game from here then.

Well, the problem is not solved, far from it sorry. This seems to be only semi reproducible, my last attempt was with Prussia remaining but Austria leaving. What's more there is no indication in the diplomatic entries that Austria is leaving.

Did you try to run the turn again and see what happens?
Have you resumed your game with an additional script to make sure the coalition remains as you wish? Perhaps this can be the safest and fastest way to keep going, even if not perfect. I will take another look Wednesday though. I can perhaps ask PhilThib to set up a recurring event putting back nations in their historical coalition.
