The problem of CTD and stability of this game is a major concern to me. I want to like it but from what I have read on various forums is that it is still unstable and prone to CTD and other stability problems. It also appears to be a patch ready for release soon (after 1.02...appears to be the latest).

So my question is where is the game now and in the very near future. I plan to purchase on Steam and have very little patience for CTD every couple of turns.

At the moment I can always run one turn without crash. Then save, exit program and then restart. If I try to run two or three turns in a row I have about a 75% chance of crashing the second turn and 100% the third turn.

I purchased on steam and it runs fine for me, in fact, I've had perhaps 3-4 problems in many hours of playing.
