Dear players,

Thank you all for your patience. We are resuming normal operations after a week of pause. A small update is available here:

http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?41773

It fixes a diplomacy crash and improves a few others things.

Thanks, once all crashes are gone, I look forward to the devs getting deep into making the content of the game (even) better !

Is this patch comprehensive, including all content from past patches?

Thanks so much!

MJ

Since Pocus didn't state otherwise in the above linked thread, you still have to:

Install v1.00
Patch to v1.011
Patch to v1.02 Beta 5th Jan.

Once the patch is finished it will be made comprehensive and replace the v1.011 patch.

Tried this patch just now (overwriting the old one). Cant acess any campaign, I click then the introductory text presents itself, music stops for 10 secs, then back again, but there is only the introductory text and the main menu windows. Also now as I click quit and agree, the game hangs at the picture of the game after the AGEOD logo.

Do I have to reinstall the game again?

Far be it for me to offer technical advice, but I can say that the Jan 5 Public Beta Patch is working in my game. I was patched up to the Dec 21 Public Beta Patch and resumed my current game and everything seems to be in order.

Then this game seems to actually hate me to the guts. I'll install the game again in a custom folder and see if it wont let me play again. If so I'll install in the default folder, then install again all the patches. If this doesnt solve things I'll pray in a foreign language.

I have Windows 7 64bit with an Intel i7 930 2,88 Ghz by the way. If it does any difference.

I just got a CTD that stated there was a Direct X bubble burst. I have never seen that before, so I'm going back into the game to see if that was a fluke or not.

Edit: It still seems to be running OK. I processed that turn with no problem, maybe it was a fluke. I did notice something strange on a very small matter. When I first went into the game, the posture and ROE tabs were shown horizontally, since coming back into the game it is back to the standard vertical placement.

Ok installed for the 3rd time, this time I changed hard dtrive. For some reason, which I dont even want to know at this point, the game works! The updates too! Guess I wont be uninstalling anymore. I see some small performance improvements to the map scrolling too.

If you are having problems with install, I tried 3 times with version 1 to version 1.011 to version 1.2 (jan 5th) beta and it didn't work.

When I installed into a new directory, it worked.

So there's an issue with regedit or something like that within install program. Putting it into a new directory fixes.

Especially with beta tests, you should always be installing into a new folder. If you want to use the same folder, you must first uninstall the previous installation.

I do this at all times, mainly because I need to have different version installed at the same time, and I've never had an issue with installing, outside of occasional Avast! issues  , which have been cleared up.

Personally, I always backup my previous version (with 7zip for instance) and then patches over it...never had any issues. Once I am confident it works safely, I can always kill the backup

I do it the old barbaric way : never back up, always pile up.... and it works like a charm, I only had the "diplomacy bug thingie that throws you back to the main menu" and that's taken care of with the patch so am happy. I have made comments about the game, but stability wise for me it has been close to perfect. I am really sorry for those who experienced many bugs.

I did 3 FULL uninstalls. Each time I reinstalled into an empty folder (same directory structure and verified empty folder) and they didn't take. Entirely new folder worked. No idea why

so far running fine, I see that Bavaria is still acting somewhat like an AI country. It did a peace treaty with Saxony, a country I went to war with manually because it attacked Bavaria. the next turn Bavaria turned around and declared war on Saxony.

Any idea when this patch will go official?

Usually it takes some time as we await the first reaction and reports from beta patches. Making a beta patch official takes a little time because of this (plus technical issues in the production task force). Should be this month likely

Sounds good. Thank you for your response, I was just curious. :)
