In my current PBEM British subs have managed to sneak through the Kiel Canal and are heading for the Baltic shipping box. Is this WAD?? Does anyone know if this is historically plausible? Did they have sub nets in 1914? See pic below...

follow my AAR as I try to sink the British subs as they sail right past my waiting fleets... :bonk:

British submarines in the Baltic are definitely historic. Sailing through the Kiel canal. Umm... Maybe not. ;)

British subs in the Baltic? Very historical. Via the Kiel Canal? Not at all. I'm really interested in a rule where WE subs can enter the Baltic through the Skagerrak and take somewhat half the damage they take transiting the Kiel canal. The Brits did it in the real war, why can't we?

So it did happen historically... then good, but not through the Kiel Canal surely? I like Merlin's suggestion. Subs are really difficult to catch early in the war... I guess until I can develop ASW...

Do not stress yourself unduly,'tis only one sub sent over as an experiment and it was significantly damaged by German mines.

Also, I'm assuming you didn't mind too much that I can see your screenshot here? I was under the assumption that only our AAR's where off limits to the opposing party.

Cheers!

No worries Jinx... it's only the eastern front anyway... your sub captain is more slippery than a greased pig... ;)
