German Cavalry Division

Is this WAD? The German Cav division seems in game to consist of about 900 men and a gun unit. I think a German cavalry division in '14 was 4300 men in 3 cav brigades and a small gun unit with only 12 - 75mm guns.

Those are flavour numbers which will have to be corrected eventually (that's the case for all nations' cavalry, at least all I've seen so far). A better flavour number for men and horses in EAW style cavalry brigades would be 1500 (or 200 men/horses per hit)...
The horse artillery of all cavalry divisions should probably be struck. Instead add some separate horse artillery to the forcepools as well as scenario setups. The largest dotation I can find is for the British 1st Cavalry Division in 1914 which was soon broken up into 1st and 2nd Cavalry Divisions, even then that formation had less than 36 guns which seems to be the standard for EAW style artillery...

After going to bed I realised that EAW style cavalry divisions (currently) use only two cavalry elements. So it would have to be 300 men/horses per hit to get to an approximatly correct manpower of 4800 cavalrymen per division...
See how this game (to be honest any game research) even haunts me in sleep ;-) ...

But GERMAN Cavalry was powerful because of the 'Jager (Light Infantry) Battalions embedded in it' these light infantry Battalions carried 'foot (light) artillery', signals, medic, engineers etc with them and were embedded in the HKK (Hohehore Kavallerie Kommando) which you see as Cavalry Corps in Game. Thus their composite corps was quite powerful and near the strength in firepower as portrayed, but number wise the strength is about 1/3rd of the 'real' numbers.

Err. In what way is that relevant to the topic? The main point lycortas2 raised is that currently the two cavalry "brigades" in an EAW cavalry division have the wrong flavour manpower (I expect a leftover from whichever database was used to create EAW's own database). Now if you refer to the artillery of the cavalry divisions, I'm not sure what kind of firepower the Jäger had, but I very much doubt it ammount to 24 guns per division which is the number missing. In any case the Jäger should be represented by Mountain units (once they start being somewhat regrouped, otherwise there is very little justification for the high number of mountain units in the German forcepool) and not cavalry.

Foot arty (artillerie à pied) was the heavy arty including coastal and fortress arty. NOT the light field arty.
It was called foot arty because its personnel was walking not riding. This type of arty was slow anyway.
