Actually it is Aleksandr - Алекса́ндр.

€: Or I guess it could also be Alexander - it depends on the romanization system that is used. The w for v is a specific German thing though afaik.

x and w do not exist in Russian azbuka (alphabet)

Yeah, Templer, you are spelling his name in Polish Romanjii (which the Germans who did so much writing of early history books were more comfortable with) not Russian. The Capital of Russia is also not Ma's Cow it is Moskva. Drives me crazy when people say that wrong but i am an American so i have to get used to ignorance.

Travelling for business i have been through Versailles. Missouri. Pronounced Ver-SAL-is. More or less.
Also crossed the Thames. Rhode Island. Pronounced THAAMES. Or THay-mes. Cringe.
