What is an "Ertstaffel".

Never heard this word. A bug?

I guess it should be "Erkstaffel" for Erkundungsstaffel engl. reconnaissance squadron?

I guess it's supposed to be an abstraction of these various Feldflieger-Staffeln stationed in and around Königsberg? So maybe that name would be more fitting.

Yes indeed, it was an oversight in this scenario, the name was corrected for the GC scenario to Erk. (for 'Erklärung"'). Will be fixed here too.

This bug occurs in the Tutorial 1914 and in the East Prussian campaigne 1914!

And I guess you mean 'Erkundung', engl. exploration' and not 'Erklärung', engl. declaration, proclamation, Statement, Illustration, pronouncement, avowal.

Somewhat related issue, as seen in H Gillmer3's AAR:

The Tsingtau Schutbrigade schould be Tsingtau Schutzbrigade.

As native german I can confirm Erk. stands for Erkundung. Typos happen and even I happen to do some from time to time. Wouldn't it be cool to enable us players to edit not only stack names but also the unit names?

I think this has been considered in the past and was not easy to implement. On the other hand you can edit unit and element names in the save game files...
