Hey gang, I'd like to pick your minds and tap into the forum's collective wisdom.

I'm hunting for recommended books that look at the Great War from the Central Power's point of view.

Books fitting this mold currently residing in my library are:
Ring of Steel, Alexander Watson; The First World War, Germany and Austria Hungary 1914-1918, Holger Herwig; Victory Must be Ours, Laurence Moyer; Storm of Steel, Ernst Junger; and All Quiet on the Western Front, Erich Remarque.

Any other suggestions?

This is more about the lead-up to the war, but "The Sleepwalkers: How Europe Went to War in 1914" by Christopher Clark was very sympathetic to Austria-Hungary, and delved into the Balkans-Russia-Austria side of the pre-war period.

The origins of the war and war plans are a world in themselves, some of them regarding the CPs:

Annika Mombauer. Helmuth Von Moltke And Origins First World War.

Hans Ehler et als. The Schlieffen Plan. International Perspectives on the German strategy for World War I.

Mark Hewitson. Germany and the Causes of the First World War.

Samuel R. Williamson. Austria-Hungary and the Origins of the First World War.

Marvin Fried. Austro-Hungarian War Aims In The Balkans During World War I.

Mustafa Aksakal. The Ottoman Road to War in 1914.

Yes, yes, I did - most impressive and wonderful work by General Snoopy!

Now I just have to grit my teeth and take the plunge into the deep end of the pool.

It's high time I dog paddled out to where the big boys are and started making code changes.

Here's another book suggestion. I highly recommend Prelude to Blitzkrieg, The 1916 Austro-German Campaign in Romania, by Michael B. Barrett. I think this is the kind of book you're looking for.
