				Hindenburg hindered

January 1915 in a one-on-one game as Germany and Hindenburg is notably absent. The Moltke replacement event fired as normal with Falkenhayn arriving on cue, but Prittwitz has stubbornly refused to surrender his command. Any ideas as to the cause?

Arrow has just pointed me to a 2015 post by BBBD316 indicating that Hindenburg doesn't get the call-up if Russia doesn't invade Germany - presumably fairly early in the time line.
Much appreciated the assist and, what a surprise, hugely critical of the lack of documentation in the manual.

Most players I know who do pbem require the Russian player to invade Prussia turn one. It is a sensible agreement and the only one needed.

Yep, a very gentlemanly arrangement and all that's required to avoid frustration and aggravation. Of course in order to come to that arrangement it's first necessary to know that it's required, and the fact that there's nothing in the manual to indicate this is extremely frustrating and aggravating.

This seems to be the event that controls Hindenburg's appointment, I do not see any reference to any date in the conditions, even though it is within
WW1_1914Events.sct file.

Thanks Nikel - that's one more piece of the puzzle now identified.

I don't think it makes a lot of sense for the Russians to attack Germany. It's a guaranteed suicide almost.

It does make sense if you are in a pbem game and wish for a mostly historically grounded game.
