Pioneers, engineers and heavy artillery all have the siege trait (I forget the exact name of the trait). Am I correct in assuming that the bonus from the trait doesn't stack? So in terms of facilitating the siege there is no point in adding pioneers and/or engineers if the corps already has heavy artillery?

The same trait does not stack. If it's a different trait (different trait name) then typically they do stack.
