Just played a new game as central Powers, I won in oct 1914 with a score of 6378 and a national moral of 153. What is going on with game? Once again massive French assaults on Metz and Antwerp.
Really annoying.

'Tis true. And, as in ALL my CP games, the Germans win by October or November. BUt, the good news is that the game grashes six or seven times by then, so it takes a few days. Here's a save game of my last win.

Winning the game as per perfectly executed Schlieffen Plan is a real possibility, as it was historically (if only the 1st and 2nd Armies stayed close enough not to allow a counterattack near Marne). So why the complains?

Did you look at the save game? No, you did not. I did far worse than historically, but still won. If you think that's okay, then you and Ageod need to rethink your game design.
The problem is clear, the new super bloody battles result in too may captured units. The algorithm must use losses in the assignment of victory conditions. So, what happens is that the French in particular have a strategy to lose the war by killing massive quantities of their men and leave much materiel on the field for the Germans. Really? Is this the "we lose so the Germans don't give in to the National Socialists" Plan?
I'm sorry you don't see a problem. Frankly, the game is broken. Period.
I just completed another game with C09, and the results are the same.

There is a strong suspicion about a problem around retreat in 1.01 indeed. These too bloody battles will give VP and morale to the winners. We will soon publish a temporary fix.

Also have the game on hold because of the battle casualties; and good to hear that a fix will be available soon.

Probably this week, as a public beta patch.
