If I include my air units in with my army stacks will they continue to function? or do they have to be kept as a separate stack? It seems like they are vulnerable if left on their own...

Air units are extremely helpful for Armies, and cut down on the penalties so
you can have more in an Army. Not only that, but they protect your air assets
instead of leaving them naked and vulnerable to capture.
