Sorry, couldn't find that anywhere (and certainly not in the manual, where it should belong): How do you use spies? I mean Mata Hari and Bolo Pasha?

See if you get them, send them on PASSIVE with AVOID COMBAT ORDER, alone 1/2 regions deep into enemy territory, then you can see what the 'enemy' is doing/planning and also details of troops. So you can plan your attack accordingly.
