Just wondering if this is intentional:

If what is intentional?

Oh yea, you can't see the cursor (I turned it off; forgot).

There's a region on the bottom left of the screen, which I'm pointing to (that's what the tooltip is for).
There's a size 1 city named Plaquemine in the top right of the screen, located in Pierre, LA.

It does seem like an error. I can spot the city of Plaquemine but not a region or area called Plaquemine. Nicely spotted

There is a Plaquemine Parish, but it's not where the Plaquemine region in the game is. It's basically both sides of the Mississippi from below New Orleans down to the Mississippi mouth.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's not going to get changed anyway. Changing region and city names is a big issue in with the game, and unless it's a game-breaker--like Baltimore being named New Bumswick--it's not going to be changed.

Can I ask why it is such a big deal to change these things? I understand that the name appears in many places in the DBs, but it seems like they would have a procedure for making changes like this. Or am I missing something?

I think it's easier to change now than it used to be with AACW... the cities and forts and region names are dynamic now, not permanently etched into the map.
But, what do I know?
heh

The database files are excel sheets. There's 1 for just regions and each scenario has 1 with the characteristics of each region at the start of the scenario.

It's a huge task for changing something which is as in this case is basically only cosmetic. The devs have very limited time for such tasks--they have far more than just this game to work on--and then it opens the door for every time that somebody finds a tiny cosmetic discrepancy that they would like to be changed. Ever heard of Pandora's Box?

It feels like you have simply repeated yourself, I was trying to ask why.

I wish that instead of a Help Improve CW2 forum they implemented a sort of bug reporting system so that we could see what requests and bug fixes were being looked into by the devs and which were being ignored. Also, this would allow us to group bugs and suggestions by type. Modders could quickly get a list of outstanding DB errors that the dev's don't feel like fixing and fix them (creating tiny cosmetic mods, for instance). It is discouraging that you think there is a Pandora's Box of issues with this game waiting to be fixed, I am not sure it is as bad as that.

If Pocus or PhilThib say that they don't want to fix it, then that's fine by me. That possibility is not going to stop me from mentioning the issue, though.
I agree with you as well, tripax. The forum is still nice, but a public view of some sort of version control system would be really nice. We can dream.

I'm pretty certain that orso is the only one who sees any sort of "pandora's box" with this sort of thing. I, for one, won't be cowed into silence over these types of issues, regardless.

I do not wish to discourage anybody from posting anything about any issues. My comment about Pandoras's Box was with regard to cosmetic changes and not posts.

The reason "why" I do not believe that what I deemed to be a cosmetic change will not be forthcoming is that the work related to implementing such changes--in my experience and opinion--are not viably in relation to the outcome.

Please note that I can only speak for myself and in no way exercise any authority over the development of this or any other AGEod game. Pocus and his staff are the only ones who will decide.

I agree on Cpt Orso on this one. Changing a name like this opens the possibility for game crashes if not done right.
The name change has to be manually changed in various places. If you forget to change it in only one place, it will lead to game crashing, something nobody wants to happen.

Not that big of a deal (not that much of an issue, anyway), the dismissiveness just bothered me is all.
It's still an issue. It may not be enough of an issue that it actually gets fixed, which is perfectly fine, but it's still an issue.
Anyway, if nobody ever says anything about this again then so be it.
