... about Leaders promotions

... CW2 have same problem than CW1 about Leaders Promotions:
I have a corps besiged with 2 divisions inside: to say I have 1 (2 stars) general for corp and 2 (1 star) generals for divisions.
The enemy assalt the city and I win getting chance to promote 3 generals ... well ... as in CW1, I have to separate the divisions by the corp and by each other to promote every general ... but so I lose power (red numbers) by hack of command support. Next turn the enemy attack again and I lose the corp and divisions ....
... the exemple reported happen in my last game played vs AI.
I can´t promote all leaders without to separate leaders ?
Observation: if I don´t promote the leader in turn after comunication, I lose the opportunity.
(English very bad but I hope that you understand)

The problem about promotions leaders was any turns ago ...
... but the interesting about this backup, is that in last 2 turn I have lost 2 army totally in MA sector: Norther Virginian Army by Lee (30.000 men lost 98%), and Shenandoa Army by Jackson (25.000 men 70 % lost) ...
I´m very bad general, or the game need a bit of tweaks ... (may be the first but ... )
Please, waste 5 minutes to checks last 2 turns verifing that the defeat is only my fault.
Thanks

Xmas if i am not wrong, i dont remember exactly how it worked in AACW 1, but now if you have some generals in same stack able to promote and the commanding general is one of them. If you promote him, all generals able to promote in the stack will promote ( so i mean you dont need to separate them). There is still the problem when the leading general cant be promoted and you need to separate other generals under his command to promote them.

Hello,
About this subjet i have find out that either i was wrong in my previous post or things have changed from the game, with version RCX, i was playing to this new long campaign with RC4. I had Hamilton ( 2 stars) and Shields ( 1 star) ready for promotion in same stack and i issued the order to Hamilton to be promoted thinking that Shields, inside his stack, would be promoted too. But next turn Hamilton had been promoted to 3 stars general and Shields had not. So... now you need ( again?) to separate leaders to promote them.

No, you have to click on each one and give the promote order.

Ok, lets see the issue, i am attaching ( i hope i have done it correctly) my turn with the backup directories. In this turn , early nov. 1862, i have 2 stars general R. Milroy commanding a stack where 1 star general James B. McPherson is inside commanding a division in Alexander IL. Both of them are able to promote and i want to promote both of them. Is there a way i can promote both at the same time without needing to remove McPherson from the stack and give him the order when he´s commanding his own stack?. Now if i open the tab with the promote order , the green plus sign, and i select Milroy i can promote him, but if i select McPherson the tooltip is still talking about Milroy, and the option is already pushed.

Definitely DON´T WORK. I have finished more one game vs IA.
I have to separate every general (ex in a corp with more generals able to promote) to promote every one, LOSING COHESION, and if I don´t promote in same turn, in the following turn I lose oppotunity to promote.
It´s very wrong to get only one trigger to promote everybody in the stack because I have generals paying penality and other no.
SO, I THINK WE NEED TO PROMOTE EVERYONE INDIVIDUALLY WITHOUT SEPARATE THE STACK.

Just to clarify: I have only one turn to promote a general or I lose the ability to do so?? That sounds unreasonable..

It depends of how many promotion points a general got, he will lose one per turn until he is no more promotable.
As for the Milroy and McPherson save: both are promotable, Milroy being the commander, McPherson a subordinate.
If you only want to promote one or the other, select the leader and click on promote.
If you want to promote both, remove McPherson from the stack, select promote. Select Milroy and hit promote. Then put back mcPherson from the stack, and they will be both promoted.
It's not working as easily as I expected, but you can indeed promote all leaders, without removing them from divisions or stack in the end. Or you can only promote some too.

This is a VERY convoluted way of handling promotions "remove one leader from a stack then promote then put him back" etc... Who wants to remember all that?? AGEOD are over-complicating something that should be a straightforward task. I suggest having a screen on the LEDGER to deal with promotions. Handle it from there and keep it manageable.

we have to see what we can do with the numerous developers around

But yes, that's convoluted. Not on purpose because we are nasty people, but because of the time it needs to improve any interface.

Of course, I understand that time is so precious and that AGEOD is a small company. Sorry if I seem to be focusing on negative issues but I am just wanting to help you to improve what is already a wonderful game. I have the greatest respect for the AGEOD development team. You make the best war games around and the WEGO system is awesome! Hopefully time will allow for the improvements that could make this game one of the best ever... it's already 90% of the way there!

I agree it's not the most transparent way to promote leaders but it's a great game and the promotion thingy is only a small itch

Yeh, but it's an itch that needs scratching!

I agree though, it is an awesome game. Don't mean to sound negative... I just want to make it even better!

After some years, we very very rarely take things badly, and only if people are insulting us literally

You all bring up some focus and light on this promotion problem, and it is useful, because it shows what people are most bothered with, this means that we will probably squeeze some time for 1.02 to improve this aspect.
