Application terminated midway through the turn processing. DirectX problem.
I have the latest DirectX version installed

For me, a DirectX crash is usually due to the game going to sleep while I am playing. If I close my laptop while a game is playing and then try to play the game I get this crash.

Two suggestions:
Make sure you are running as an administrator. Window 7, 8 and 10 run programs without giving the game write privileges. This is often a cause of crashes. If this does not fix your issue, restart your computer prior to play.

But running as admin usually works.

I am playing as admin. and have granted the game change rights. This is a clean install of CW2 and the latest update. I had installed Win10 but because of severe networking problems I went back to Win7 and then did the new install of CW2. I'm playing on a desktop and it doesn't nod off for at least 1 hr.
