PBEM Issue - Orders not being followed

I have tried playing a few scenarios (Shiloh and Sibley's New Mexico Campaign) with my Dad via PBEM. I hosted the game and send him the .hst file. He does his turn and send me his .ord file. I do my turn and hit end turn. Everything seems ok on my screen, but when I sent the .hst file for the next turn to my Dad he says none of his orders are being followed. He tells me it looks like his units are moving on their own and not going where he tells them to go.

Is this a known issue with PBEM? Is there something we are doing wrong on our end?

Any information/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

When you load the game, does it show his side has orders? This is indicated by an icon on that sides president.

No, there is only an icon on my side's president (hosting player). Both .ord files are in the folder though. Should I have the icon on both presidents?

Yes, you should both icons. Something is going wrong. Your dad could be sending orders from a turn behind, or something else could be going wrong.

Welcome to the forums btw. :wavey:

Thanks for the info - I'm not sure why I'm not seeing both icons. I created a subfolder in CWII\Saves and the .hst file and both .ord files are in there. Is there a specific option I need to select to let the game know I am playing PBEM?

Check the name his .ord file. Some email clients add "_" in place of spaces in the name after upload which you need to remove by renaming the file.

Thank you! I think that's it! I just checked his file and it does have an underscore in it....I will try this and report back.

Just wanted to confirm that the fix worked - thanks again!
