The game will just not load past the menu screen... afterwards it won't launch.

Apparently, explorer.exe is jammed and autorun.exe can't be closed with task manager.

Be advised that the dl copy mentions the patch for alea jacta est instead of CW so the only way to go on is to skip and then you can carry on with the installation.

Don't know how to proceed here, I've already rebooted but again it didn't work. I got the files... got everything but would not uninstall if possible.

I think the problem is you didn't install the patch, which is understandable. However it sounds like the patch is the correct one, but has the wrong text. (Apparently there's some changes going on with the patching process over at Matrix). If you're having problems uninstalling, did you try reinstallling over the directory or into a second location?

Gonna try to reinstall the patch/expansion over the previous installation again after the reboot and let you know.

Yes, the patch is the correct one but mention wrongly AJE. As you did not install it, it jams the game. Sorry for the trouble.

Musta been a corrupt installation of some sort.
I reinstalled the scenarios & patch again and there it went: A-Ok.
