I have been playing april 61 campaign when saving game after a turn it locks up saying:-
TAgeDxComponent.Draw exception caught:
Impossible d`ouvrir le fichier "C:\tony\documents\MyGames\Civil War II\CW2\Saves\1961 April Campaign3\1861 April Campaign.hst
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process class:
TAge Graphic button component:GUIMain.btnContinue

i cannot resume game at all and cannot load any previous saves???
I dont think that i will ever finish a scenario in this game as after so many game turns it always locks out!
can any body help :cursing:

I am having a similar problem. I can't play for more than 2 hours in a row before it crashed for one reason or another. But the last time my campaign crashed on me, and when I tried restarting and loading the last save point, I got a bad message too. I posted in the tech support forum, and am waiting for a response.

I really don't feel like having to start another campaign, so am hoping I'll be able to load my save eventually.

Did you guys make sure the CW2 game process(es) were all killed in Task Manager after that crash? Perhaps a computer restart to make sure?

Or the lock-up corrupted your save file when the turn or save was processing. Did this freeze happen after you hit the End Turn button? I'm just guessing here, from the error message. Sounds like maybe the save info didn't get finished writing to the save file (or it's still "open" in system memory?).

Don't these AGE games save a few previous turns back? Couldn't you revert back to the previous turn? At least you wouldn't have to start all over that way.

I'd also be curious if these happened on a specific game date. I have a vague recollection of some event bug or another, happening on a specific date, that caused some nastiness like that in PrON before being tracked down & squashed.

Same here, it did not allow me to load a previous save therefore my only option is to start again

The game locked up before i hit the save button, as per previous instances, i had been saving after every turn and in previous times i had been able to revert to a saved game turn but not this time? when i tried to resume the game it had no saved game turns in it
I am not a PC expert but in the game error message it suggests that this process cannot work because it is stopped by another simultaneous process

Can you please try to check if one of the file in the current game directory weights 0 byte?

If you install the public beta patch 1.01 and starts clean, turn compression will be off by default and this might be the cause of error. Alternatively you can save the games in the Civil War II directory directly, this can help. To do so, go to the Civil War II directory then delete the file userpath.ini

I already had turn compression turned off for the entire campaign prior to this problem, so that isn't the cause.

This might be caused by Windows UAC then or your anti virus. Basically, the write can't be written because it is locked by another process.

You can roll back manually one turn by going to the saves folder, then in your saved game, put the content of backup1 folder in the saved game folder.
