California, best path eastward?

Does anyone know the best path to get off map Regulars in California and those Far West areas into main theaters? For example MO or even VA?

You can connect to riverine movement at the northwest corner of the map (Chouteau, MT/Ft Claglett) which you can take all the way to New Orleans if you so desire or to Sioux City, IA if you want the nearest rail connection.
