Will the database files be released for modding and/or scenario creation?
I'm waiting to pull the trigger on ACW2 until I know.

I certainly hope they will be. Your scenarios for the original were excellent! They really added value to that game. If they do, will you attempt to bring them over?

They will for sure, but not until we are totally pleased with the current game content and status. We usually wait a bit till the product has reached a certain level of maturity before doing so..

Sounds good. I'll wait for a while and see how it goes.

We use Excel (or OO) to manipulate them, adding color and code to differentiate factions or events. And that's it, we don't have an integrated editor... Sorry!

what's OO? I found the answer to that. I did read some of the wiki and have also downloaded the Csv Splitter. Now on to scenario creation, where can I find the .xls file for the April Campaign? According to the wiki I have to make my own scenario using an existing one so how do I do that?

I imagine the database files will be presented in this forum when the Phils are ready with them. Once you have them:
  • Make a copy of the scenario-file you wish to use as you basis under a unique name
  • Change the scenario name inside the file
  • Change the settings to your liking
  • Process with the csv-splitter per the instructions
  • Implement the files created by the csv-splitter as per the instructions
Done
