Working on the Battle Report and Battle Planner now.

How about this for a start? I know the background is a bit busy, but I like the map effect. Found a nice First Manassas map.

Now for the Combat Gauge.

Two WIP versions so far - an All Metal version and a Metal and Wood version.

Frankly, the default version works well in the sense that it shows up clearly against the map. Adding texture makes it blend in a bit, but does look less "modern."

I love the Battle Report and Battle Planner! Great work!
And I like the metal and wood version of the combat gauge.

Yet another version of the Combat Gauge - all wood with brass plaques. Shows up pretty well, even against a busy map.

Nice stuff...however, graphically, coherence should be a rule in game design...it's not always pleasant to have different looks and materials all over the place. If you opt for bronze + wood, then it should be everywhere, shouldn't it?

It should, I agree. I'm still just experimenting.

You guys are doing an amazing job.

The Battle Report & Planner looks top notch! The map in the background doesn't wash out the letters as much as you'd think, although lightening it up just a tiny bit may help the text 'pop' some more if need be.

I also dig the Wood w/ Brass Plaque look on the Combat Gauge.

I understand you might not have finished the whole set you had in mind, but come on - these look so amazing (especially the wood&brass one, IMHO) it is a shame you never released them...
