Hello Civil War 2 community,

As I mentioned over on the CW2 Mods forum, my friend Naturamix and I still actively play Civil War II. Over time, we’ve noticed a number of small things that could be improved, so I started modding the game for our sessions.

Naturally, I wanted to share my work with everyone. But I also wanted to make sure the mod would remain available for a long term, hopefully permanently. Unfortunately, many mods posted here on this forum have been lost over time.

To solve this, I requested that Nexusmods add Civil War II to their site, and they approved Civil War II! I’ve already uploaded my mod "Gunray's Civil War II Enhancement Mod", and I hope this can become a place to host not only new mods, but also to preserve older ones that are no longer available here.

I checked out the link and was wondering about two things. First, can you discuss the installation procedure for those of us who own the stand alone non-steam version of the game. And second, do you have thoughts about fixing the McClellan event not firing with your mod?

Hello Scott,

The installation instructions are the same for both Steam and non-Steam users:
1. Download the file
2. Unpackthe .zip
3. Copy the CW2 folder into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Civil War II\
Confirm and replace any files
4. Delete Models.Cached and Units.Cached.
5. Start the game and enjoy the mod.

The only difference is in the uninstallation process for non-Steam users:
- Before installing, back up your vanilla CW2 folder.
- To uninstall, delete the modded CW2 folder in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Civil War II\
- Then copy your backed-up vanilla CW2 folder back into the same location.

By the way, could you tell me more about the McClellan event bug you mentioned?
