After Ending Turn goes back to main menu

I'm halfway through a campaign and when I click end turn it takes me back to the main menu. I tried restoring the previous turn but it does the same thing.

I've had this happen before. I basically had to restart.

I got the second backup save to work then I started getting error messages in French and the game closed

This will sometimes happen to me if I exit the CW2 window to do other computer stuff during turn resolution.
Hitting resume brings the campaign screen back up, with nothing lost.

I haven't tabbed out or minimized the game while playing, looks like i'll be restarting too.

This just started happening to me, for the first time ever. The turn will not cycle to completion, just sends me back to main menu. I quit and restarted my computer, but it still occurred. Does that mean I need to start a new game from scratch?

There was no way to salvage my campaign. All the previous saves I loaded also brought me back to the main menu during turn processing.

Has your new game been OK? How far into it are you?
