quick question on supply

If you are playing with easy supply off do you need to put supply wagons inside a town to refill, or do they slowly refill on the campaign if supply is getting thru? Thanks

If you're getting the supply/ammo in, your wagons should suck up whatever is in the structure regardless of whether they are outside or inside of it. Keep in mind that wagons won't fully stock up if there's not enough general supply and ammo present to meet the supplies needs of any other units present.

Let's say I have an empty wagon I send to a depot with plenty of supply. On day 5 of turn 1 it arrives at the depot, but then at the start of the next turn (turn 2), it is sitting at the depot empty. Do I need to leave it at the depot for turn 2, or if I send it back to my stack immediately, will it fill up in day 0 or turn 2 and arrive at my stack with supplies?

Does that question make sense?

Sure, makes sense. My understanding is that as long as your wagon is within supply distance of a full depot, three intervening regions, it will fill. It does not need to go back to a city or depot.

Yes, your wagon will be in supply as long as it is at distance of a valid supply source (i.e. enough supply available and not besieged/blockaded).

This distance might be greater or lower than three intervening regions : it depends on the current weather, the terrain and the region development (moreover you need at least 25% of MC).

As a rule of thumb, you can use the movement cost of a supply wagon to compute how far the supply will travel in a round of the supply phase (there are 3 rounds in total) : it can't go farther than 15 days worth of movement, more and you need a structure in the middle. In any case, supply can't travel more than 5 regions in a supply round (i.e. you need at least a structure each 5 regions).

You have also to take into account your rail and river movement pool : if enough is left, supply can use it for one or several supply rounds.

Edit : the supply phase is taking place at the very beginning of the turn, before any movement.

Supply is calculated at the start of a turn. So if your wagon was out of range at the start of the turn, it wouldn't have filled up. As long as supply is present at the start of the turn, the wagon will refill prior to any movement out of a structure or region. The last part also applies to ships that are leaving a harbor. So if a runner or blockade ship/transport heads to port to refill supply, they should be good to move back to sea on the following turn. (assuming you have enough supply there)
