Wow, I was away from the boards for a few months when you originally posted this and missed it the first time around. Very nice work, extremely helpful info there; even as a veteran, I learned several new things.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this already, but a while ago I tried to figure out the formula for economic production (particularly $, WS, and conscripts). I did some experiments and my results are briefly mentioned here (I can't find anywhere else I wrote about it):

I think my suggestions differ slightly from yours, and that may be due to the engine changing between then and now.

Thanks tripax,
a very nice explication of how economic production works; your formula has been incorporated.

No problem. As I said, the formula has been tweaked in the past. At one time I think rich regions produced more even, and it may be the case that this is incorporated into the formula again. Also, if I didn't mention it, you should note that rounding is done at the region level, so if the formula suggests that two regions will produce 1.4 conscripts each, total production from those two regions will still be 1+1=2 conscripts (not 1.4+1.4 = 2.8 or 3).
