Will the USA lose supply and men over time if ive captured the provinces around washington? i have blockaded the mouth of the river that connects to washington (playing against ai they have big stack od 150kmen vs my 78k men entrenching on the provinces around washington)

The 1863 is almost over about 3 turns left so im just entrenching for the winter effects to subside but wil the ai lose men adn supply over the winter if I have surrounded washington?.


I have checked the mouth of the river near washing tile it says that i have enough ships to blockade it so( I dont know if it means there will be no supply or that troops just cant cross its blockaded by 4 ironclads)

Also does a corps holding fort and coastal batteries will be able to reinforce my army from mannassas will be able to "march to the sound of guns" if my other crops get attacked?

I used the same tactics as you and they weakened, took many turns though. But it depends on settings too (easy supply, attrition for AI).

You are asking the wrong questions and making the wrong assumptions.

You do not "lose" supply and certainly not from being surrounded. SubUnits use supply at the start of each turn; about 2 GS (General Supply) points per turn per SubUnit.

Depending you the scenario's attrition setting 'hits' may be applied to SubUnits, especially if they are lacking or have no supply, -are marching in winter, -are marching in poor weather, -are marching at all, -are in a wilderness region (especially swamps), etc. etc. All of these cases are cumulative.

There is a chance that hits incurred through attrition may instead be 'paid for' with supplies.

Supply may be moved through any region where there are no unopposed enemy units and you have >=25% MC.

No, you haven't. You cannot 'blockade' the mouth of a river, only the exit-point(s) of a harbor.

Winter is coming!! .

If it's late November '63, winter has not yet arrived.

All troops are subject to attrition, depending on your setting. Entrenching will help against attrition as will being in the region of a large city and having lots of supplies which can be exchanged for attrition hits. I would say, the troops in Washington are far better situated to sit-out the winter than your troops surrounding it.

Also, be aware, that Washington produces supplies.

A harbor is blockaded at its exit-point(s). Check the tool-tip of the harbor in question to discover its exit-point(s). If you have blockaded a harbor, the blockade icon will appear in that region.

Refer to my statement above about supply transitioning a region.

MTSG is only to directly adjacent regions and only between corps and army stacks of the same army.

Captain Orso already covered your other questions pretty thoroughly, but I'm kind of confused about the below.

Are you saying that you have coastal batteries as a direct part of a corps? If so, you shouldn't expect an MTSG from them. Same with any corps/army that has locked troops within it.

The whole of 1864 have alot defensive battles and managed to win by the end of the year via battles

was playing on colonel ai (not easy supply,hist attrition me and ai, low detect, veteran activation plus 1 for ai) but would love to have the ai to attack more tho
