Youtube for PBEM

Has anyone done this? For all the features included in game as well. Since the manual has scant articles and forum articles are up about it but everywhere. It would certainly save a migraine.

Yes, Gray Fox sums it up well.

I'll likely do another PBEM YouTube this summer, this time from the Union perspective. Most people were requesting the CSA first, hence that's what you have now. :)

If you are new to the game, the video tutorials are likely a better place to start, though if you've been playing a few months now, you could just dive in to the PBEM.

I've made it to video 21 or so of your 75 and plan on continuing watching the rest as I find time. I've enjoyed your PBEM so far. Really, the ONLY knock I have against it is your proclivity to pronounce Tuscon like TusKen with a hard k. Not a big deal, but it did bug me some when you covered the west. I've played Athena both in AACW and CW2, but just started my first PBEM game against a human opponent. So I definitely enjoyed and watching what you and your opponent have done and your thoughts on general strategy. I think it's crucial for my own play against my opponent.

I watched all of your tutorials. I have not finished with your PBEM Match so far but working on that. Although my question was a little more simplistic. When I have my PBEM games, neither the manual or forum truly got the information across on 'how to'... Think this would be very useful for new players in a visual format. Thought about doing it myself last night, or may get around to it my next match. 4 players have written me, 2 actually had to ride by the seat of our pants to figure out how to... : ) it did work ultimately, we had to restart to get replay to work... may have been a version issue.

I love your tutorials by the way... They have taught me what you cannot really grasp by reading or by AAR...simplicity of detail but very complex considering all the features in one basket!

I don't know if this post might help you ?

Yes, I have this bookmarked. Without this I would not have started a PBEM game successfully without a few more hours of mess around. Despite this tutorial, 2 of my opponents and I spent a bit of time figuring out several things for ourselves. (2 restarts )

Just saying all the time devoted into micro'ing say your supply wagons vs how to actually successfully conduct a PBEM would help. I have ran into 3 separate issues not mentioned anywhere I can find. Adapted...and fixed fortunately but if new issues arise there is no definitive tutorial outside this beautiful forum post by you.

If you have specific questions you can ask them here and if you have useful tips for other PBEM players don't hesitate to share them.

I have found that I usually get pretty fast and accurate responses to any specific questions regarding the game. So this forum community is pretty great in that regards. Though I do agree with Battle that having a detailed step by step how to PBEM video and maybe common problems would be very helpful for new PBEM players.

Indeed, a new mission for Charlesonmission. :siffle:

The tutorials were meant to be step by step - I even think I say click with the mouse, etc. Are you looking for very specific tutorials (for example, what to do with supply wagons?) Can you give an example in that context.

FightingBuckeye would like a video tutorial on how to PBEM (seems to be a good idea IMHO).

I second the motion.

A PBEM video would be very helpful; we are unable to get cohosting working in our current game.

Yes por favor, my opponent and I eventually got a PBEM going after a couple of false starts and that was with him hosting. I'm not exactly sure how to really host myself.

Oh and it was Battlevonwar who first suggested it, likely due to some of the issues we ran into while trying to get our game started.
