So I bought this game about a week ago on steam. I've tried a couple AGEOD games in the past and was looking for a good turn based strategy game to pass the time. After playing the tutorials and the small battles, I've finally started my first full game in the campaign. After a few turns I went to lunch with my wife and that's where the trouble started. Instead of having a nice normal conversation I kept distracting myself planning my assault to retake Norfolk while trying to hold Harpers Ferry, and establish a force to move down the Mississippi. So I just wanted to say thanks for inevitably ruining my marriage, now back to my planning.

Welcome to the forum.

Ruined marriages are a free service for being here. Or a really understanding wife.

Thank you for the welcome. I took Norfolk successfully so perhaps she will understand if I say i got it for her.

That won't work. A random imaginary conquest won't appeal to her. Instead say something like, 'I thought that girl you hate at work was from Norfolk, so I took it over because I thought YOU would want me to.'

Marriages depend on people. CW2 will last forever, especially if you put your installer and product key into cloud storage.

what if the cloud servers are based in Norfolk and get shelled?

Obviously your Hide value is not high enough.
Redeploy to somewhere else (ideally with lower frontage) and your Combat Readiness / Organization will increase.
Edit: My lovely gf has learnt (the hard way) not to try to have a conversation with me or plan things when I am playing with my headphones on. All questions will be answered with: 'Yes' or 'Mmmmhmmm'.

Don't sacrifice the approach to your capital on ancillary things like the Shenandoah Valley or marriage.

Fortunately we can broker a peace deal. While she plays on Pinterest with it's tiny rectangles I can play with these tiny rectangles

I'm glad you and the wife were able to get a peace deal. It's so much better that way.
