High Res Map for AACW use

Wasn't sure if there's a better subform to post this in.

So I was always looking for a map to use while playing AACW that was both high resolution, but reasonably low density (in terms of stuff actually shown on the map) and I came across this:

(high res version can be downloaded here: http://www.loc.gov/item/99447086)

I then did some work to it, based on the old AACW map:
-marked all existing (as actual structures on the AACW map) towns on the map more clearly and improved the clarity of their name
-marked state capitals and important towns distinctly
-marked all forts existing on the AACW map with a different icon
-traced all AACW map railroads in green and removed all railroads that don't correspond to AACW map (with very few exceptions)
-traced all AACW map rivers in blue, which included adding in some rivers
-added an overlay for West Virginia to mark it as a Union State

The result is this:

My next task is to update it for CW2, but I haven't gotten around to that.

Has anyone come across a similar map that extends further west (again, being both high res and low density)?

Anyway, I thought I'd share, as I've had fun plotting my campaigns on this :D

While I appreciate the effort it just isn't quite as pretty as what the game gives us.

Oh no argument there, I've always been smitten with the AACW map and the CW2 one is growing on me.

This was more to enable out-of-game planning and post-game plotting of invasions and battles.

And more than a little bit of an obsession with maps on my part, no doubt :)

Understood. I love maps too!
