Ghost Units in Fort Clark?

I have a situation in PBEM where I am besieging Ft. Clark as Union. After some months and several assaults (one of which got General McPherson promoted) the CSA military garrison has apparently been whittled down and disappeared. The interior of the fort shows no CSA units. The fort icon itself is gone. However the region still shows as being besieged with the MC being 95/5 for the Union. SOMETHING rebellious is there still in the region causing 5 percent control and the besieged icon - even though there is no fort any more. The area shows just as a stretch of empty sand with a besieged icon.

Anyone else experience something like this? I had heard of "ghost" units where a partisan is involved and the other side doesn't have a high enough patrol value. But here we have empty sand, a 95/5 Union MC, but with a CSA flag flapping over the emptiness and a besieged icon.

Thoughts? There seems some wackiness with forts that aren't in cities. The fort disappears but the siege stays, even though there is no one there.

This is a know issue.

During one of your assaults the fort itself was destroyed and removed from the game. The harbor is however still present and the enemy garrison is inside the harbor. Your PBEM opponent can confirm that he still has units in the harbor by clicking on the harbor, which will select those units, the same as when you click on any location icon with units inside.

This is why you still have the Besieged icon in the region and your force does not have 100%MC. Also, if you try to sail naval units into the harbor you will note that you cannot. This is because the harbor is CS owned as long as there are CS units inside.

A solution is being worked on.

Thanks! I hope a fix is in for 1.04 final. In the meantime, I assume there is nothing the Union can do with that region and should just leave it? Or will it respond to a successful siege roll or assault?
