Very disappointed & frustrated

I have been trying to master the game system & mechanics for the last several months. I have had numerous critical error crashes that virtually force me to start over. I never get past the summer of '62. Yes, I have submitted the files that Support has asked for but never get once have I received an answer that addresses the issue. I run a custom Win 7x64 PC w/ nvidia 650Ti adapter and 8 gig of ram. My PC is clean and free from any viruses. I run several on-line games including Eve On-Line, Star Trek On-Line, LOTR without a hitch.

Very Disappointed and Frustrated

Hi there, have you tried the latest 1.04 rc4 patch, it fixes a lot and is very stable... also this is a very friendly forum and the people here are always happy to answer questions regarding game system and mechanics :)

I'm sure if you give CW2 time you will find out its a very good game..

Hi,

I have played all of the AGEOD games and this is the first one i have had crash so i feel your pain. I am running a custom Win 7 64bit Nvidia 660 so quite similar to yours.
I had to turn off turn compression, lower the memory usage one notch from the max, lower texture loading one notch, and i will think about it and if i think of more i will post it.

Oh, yeah, and i have found that if i hit the 'save' button, and then try to process the turn i crash, so if i save i exit, reload and go from there.
If you have any questions for me feel free to ask.

Mike

So am I. I've gone back to AACW. Unfortunately, I gave away my AACW disc. Fortunately, I could download it from Matrix for the price of dinner and a couple of beers. Also, lodilefty's lovingly assembled 1.17a heritage patch is still available, so I once again have a solid, bug free Civil War strategy simulation.

Thank you lodilefty, wherever you are. Not "stuck in Lodi again", I hope.

Sorry about these problems. About hardware issues, did you try Lycortas advices, they are good.

If you bought AACW, we can certainly see to provide a download link, no need to buy it again.

Thanks for the offer, but I bought it and gave it to someone else. So, if I want a new copy for myself I must buy it again. I don't rip off software, ever.
