Is synchronized movement working?

Perhaps I am doing this incorrectly. But I have Johnson's Army and Jackson's Corp set for synchronized movement from the same region to a neighboring one to attack a union unit there. Johnson still shows 10 days to make the move and Jackson shows 8. Its important that they arrive and begin the battle together. I have the synchronized tab clicked for both Johnson and Jackson.

I've seen similar in other AGE games - that the time shown for the move remains as it was when each moved individually. But as long as they are a valid chain of command (ie corps within an army or army+corps) then the actual move is carried out synchronized.

Remember that there is still a risk for partial engagement in the destination - in particular in the opening phase of a battle.

They arrive at the same time, the faster one waits for the slower one. If time is an issue you can try to force march the slow moving stack.

Is it possible for units from 2 different regions to coordinate and arrive simultaneously in a third to attack an enemy stack? That arrive from the east and west at the same time>

If it takes 5 days for stack A for region X, and 10 days for stack B in region Y to arrive in region Z, can this be accomplished? Does the delay movement function actually work?

I have been unable to achieve this Mark. Does the 'Delay' button actually exist?

The process you outline should be a standard order. That is stack A waits in zone Z till stack B arrives from zone Y, then combine, then move to combined force to zone X. A simple and standard move conducted throughout history. It should be possible with the chance of it getting messed up. But it should be possible. I don't see how it is though.

in the periods covered by the AGE games this was incredibly hard to organise.

The best solution is to rely on march to the sound of the guns, ie actively send in one formation (or group) and let the others be drawn in. There is a benefit to this - march to the sound of the guns gets no penalty for attacking over a river (though it is less likely to trigger if that is the case)

As such, there is no 'delay' function - just either combined move or use the reserve commitment options.

The manual mentions the delay special order, but I have yet to see this special order appear for any stack I have selected, not even as a grayed-out option. Was the special order dropped from the release version of the game and the manual never updated to reflect this?
