First, great game. I had been looking forward to it for a while now and have played the original to death.

Theres something I can't figure out though. My treasury balance continues to be in the negative each turn, and after scrolling over the money icon the message that displays the negative numbers states "changes from historical options". In the scripted event message screen I've noticed the number of money deducted is listed as the cost paid for volunteers. The issue is I don't have any historical options selected at this point. I had assumed it was from selecting an option earlier, but the option had expired and I'm still being hit with this penalty.

Is this normal? I'm not able to have a positive balance on any turn now, the treasury is auto-deducting each turn and on average I wind up with -300$ to -600$ each and every turn.

This is a bug due to the volunteers event in the ledger. It has been fixed, so patch your game. I think you will need to restart your game after you patch.

Indeed, you'll need to restart a new game so that the option is correctly loaded.
