37 days to Fort Sumter?!

I am currently playtesting Civil War and something bothers me: how come my South Carolinians do take 37 days from Charleston to Fort Sumter?
It was a dozen days in AACW. Am I missing something new there?

Held out there until July '61... with every successful defence you might have noticed you'll get a new garrison

But it only happens rarely, so enjoy the blocking of the SC coastal area and reinforce it at once.

While Charleston Harbor is salt water, I don’t think the location of the fort would prohibit river ships from reaching it. It’s less than a mile from shore and in enclosed waters.

the thing is that you can be in mud/rain in the region sometime, so it slows down land movement also.

Indeed, but it never occured in AACW. So I was wondering wether I was doing something wrong.

I have the same problem. 2-3 turns to get Fort Sumter.

Detach your supply wagon and use river transports to get there if the weather is bad.

Look guy, don’t think it is gamee to send your cavalry alone to take the fort.
Remember, it fell to just the bombardment. If you don’t like that then send your weakest infantry unit alone and let the rest sit in town.

Yes and no..in fact we made the besieging forces closer (to Ft Johnston mostly) and added P.G.T. Beauregard to offset the CP penalty...altogether it makes perfectly possible to capture the fort in 10-15 days (depending on the weather).
Beauregard will be "recalled" by Davis early May and appointed automatically to the Army of the Potomac
